Strictly speaking most people do not use dumbbells for whole body fitness. There are a few exercises that are well nigh impossible without the dumbbell but apart from these the dumbbells are not used much.
Yet if you check a few bowflex 552 dumbbell reviews you will find that dumbbells are actually quite useful. It all depends on the kind of exercises you do.
For example one set of dumbbells or the 552 can be sufficient for your upper body. It is only when it comes to the lower body that it becomes a problem because the weight is just not enough.
If you have the larger 1090 though you could possibly use just the one set of dumbbells for your howle body fitness. It may take some innovative exercises, but your body will in no way look different from if you were using a very expensive trainer. Just looking through a few YouTube clips will be sufficient to show you what all you can do with the humble dumbbell.
